Character Information
Name: Spock
Fandom: Star Trek (XI/2009 reboot)
Timeline Summary: End of the movie.
Background: "I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it."
Personality: Spock will say that as a Vulcan he doesn’t feel emotion but the truth is he feels emotion far more deeply than most other species. From a very young age, he was trained to keep emotional displays at bay and to rely and focus on logic instead. Unfortunately his differing human and Vulcan natures are warring forces that often leave him confused and frustrated – more-so after the devastating loss of his mother and his home planet Vulcan. His Vulcan half makes him calculating, composed, disciplined, fatalistic, fearless, inhibited, introspective, introverted, logical, meticulous, observant, practical, rational, and reserved while his human half makes him adaptable, artistic, creative, curious, and proud. He is unsurprisingly adverse to physical touch and affection, however this is not to say he is antisocial; he enjoys stimulating conversation and games that require thought. He has a dry, sarcastic sense of humor that is easy to miss. He is, of course, highly intelligent, being knowledgeable in many subjects, including but not limited to science, language, music and literature. When it comes to his work he is almost painfully meticulous. His respect and loyalty is not easily earned but once acquired their holder will find him to steadfast and reliable. He is naturally private, to the point of being unable to discuss certain things without the issue being forced. For the most part he is a pacifist and is only moved to acts of violence when pushed beyond his limits (which is a rare feat) or to protect another.
Powers, Skills, and Abilities: In spite of his half-human heritage, Spock retained the renowned Vulcan strength, various telepathic abilities and an increased lifespan of (at least) 200 years. Vulcans are touch-telepaths: they receive emotional and thought transference through touch. By touching certain points on one’s face call “psi-points” he can initiate a mind meld, which allows him to feel what they feel and see what they see or vice versa. When injured, he can enter a healing trance that allows him to heal his own wounds but it often takes physical force to drag him back out of the trance. He is proficient in playing the Vulcan lute and piano.

First Person:

Voice

[The voice that comes over the feed is a soft contralto, words clear and precise if not slightly fast. The Vulcan is not pleased with his current situation; namely, waking to find his clothing changed and his phaser and communicator taken with no memory of how any of it happened – and then there’s not knowing where he is beyond a civilized planet that hasn’t yet been mapped by the Federation (a conclusion he was able to make thanks in part to the unfamiliar constellation patterns).] I am Spock, First Officer of the USS Enterprise. I request to speak with whoever is in charge here.

Third Person:

Spock watched as Jim Kirk attempted to contact the Enterprise again. It was the sixty-eighth attempt since they’d lost communication approximately one point five hours ago. Not that he was actively keeping count or anything. (He absolutely was.) The mission had been going exceedingly well until it was just himself and Jim left on the planet – and he wasn’t sure which of those should have been a red flag, if not both; nothing was ever that easy and he was quickly coming to realize that his Captain had a rather impeccable ability to end up in the right place at the utterly wrong time. Still, things could have been worse, and with that in mind he turned toward the other man, hands linked behind his back in the traditional parade rest stance. “Captain, I do not think increasing the frequency of your calls is a productive measure. It will be getting dark soon. I suggest we find more appropriate shelter until such a time that the electromagnetic activity in the atmosphere wanes enough for communication to be possible.” While the planet was a veritable paradise, lush, exotic and warm, they had no idea what the night might bring.

Jim tucked the communicator away with a nod even as he pointed toward a set of low mountain ranges. “I saw some caves that way. We can collect wood and kindling along the way.” Spock nodded his approval of the plan and Jim flashed him a quick grin before he started to walk. He resisted the urge to roll his eyes at his Captain’s antics, familiar as they were becoming, and quickly followed, stepping into an even pace beside him.
